Shampoo Eyes

We were in the beautiful city of Lyon, France. This particular morning started like any other when you are living out of a backpack. You rummage through your stuff trying to locate things by feel alone (who wants to unpack every time you need something?) Not this girl! So I dig out my makeup/bathroom bag. To my dismay my convenient travel size shampoo has leaked all over everything. While this was disappointing I thought I could live with having to pick up some French shampoo (how chic!). I soon realized that I had bigger problems. My contact case was not properly sealed and shampoo had leaked inside. I tried to wash my contacts off as best I could. However a few blocks away from our place I realized that was not going to work. I needed to get to a pharmacy immediately.

Musée d’Orsay

I fully expected the Louvre to be my most memorable museum experience in Paris. However, the Musée d’Orsay took me by surprise. Like the Louvre they have a beautiful collection of paintings, sculptures, and decorative arts. But unlike the Louvre you can experience and absorb all that the Musée d’Orsay has to offer in one day. I am continuing my color theme from last week; I want to tell you about Bleu. This film is truly a piece of art. It is the first part of the Trois couleurs Trilogy. The subject of the film is emotional liberty and deals heavily with loss and grief. Juliette Binoche brilliantly expresses human fragility by saying very little but expressing so much. She is a broken female spirit that tries to cut off all emotion and connection to the world. Blue is the color that embodies her internal dealing of emotions and feelings.  Read The Rest
