This is pretty much the coolest thing I have ever seen. It is a painting combined with sculpture to create a near lifelike red octopus. The artist  will often use an egg shell to form the body the of cephalopods which he then merges seamlessly with alternating layers of resin and acrylic to create an incredible sense of depth and dimensions. It is super awesome.

His work has a phenomenal sense of perspective. They could almost pass for photographs, they look so real!

Here are some more that don’t have the pop out effect, but they are no less impressive.
