Adventures in Tilt Shift Photography

I stumbled across this technique for the first time a couple weeks ago. Tilt shift photography is a creative and unique type of photography in which the camera is manipulated so that a life-sized location or subject looks like a miniature-scale model.

I find the Photoshop creations of this technique fascinating. The photo selection is imperative to the success of the final result, but people are also creating some pretty neat things with tilt shift paintings.  It is pretty fun to create miniature worlds of your own. I catch myself looking at things and wondering how they would look in miniature (always adorable!).

  • The top picture looks great. The blurred background along with the exaggerated colors really makes the scene look like it was shot in a diorama. Very cool.
